Manchester City is closing in on the signing of Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso as the January transfer window heats up.

The 24-year-old left-back, who rose through Genoa’s academy before joining Juventus for £7.2 million in 2022, has caught the attention of the Premier League champions.

Cambiaso made a name for himself last season after a successful loan spell at Bologna, becoming a key player upon his return to Juventus.

Despite his promise, he has started only one of Juventus’ last nine games, with manager Thiago Motta citing inflammation issues as the reason for his limited appearances.

City is reportedly prepared to secure Cambiaso with a £54.7 million offer, including a five-year deal and an optional 12-month extension.

However, Juventus is holding out for £67.3 million, though insiders suggest a compromise is likely to be reached.
