Inter Miami star Lionel Messi has officially become a free agent, meaning he can now negotiate with any club of his choice, even though his current deal with the MLS side runs until December 2025. FIFA rules allow players with less than six months left on their contracts to enter talks with other clubs, giving Messi the green light to weigh his options.

This has fueled fresh rumours about a possible exit, with reports claiming that Saudi giants Al Hilal are preparing an official bid to tempt the Argentine legend to the Middle East. Speculation around Messi’s next move is also linked to his plans for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
