Argentina skipper Lionel Messi has shared his delight after Ousmane Dembele was crowned the 2025 Ballon d’Or winner, finishing ahead of Barcelona’s young star Lamine Yamal.
Messi, who played alongside Dembele during their Barcelona days, congratulated the French forward and praised his achievement. The Inter Miami playmaker commented on Dembele’s Instagram post from the ceremony in Paris, writing, “Great Ous! Congratulations, I’m very happy for you. You deserve it.”
Dembele lifted the prestigious award on Monday night at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, beating Yamal, who came second, and Vitinha, who placed third.
After receiving the honor, Dembele described the win as a dream come true, expressing his joy, pride, and gratitude to everyone who has stood by him throughout his career.
