“My Family Is My Centre” — Adekunle Gold Reflects on Balancing Music and Parenthood
Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has spoken about his priorities in life, stating that his family comes first — his wife, Simi, and their daughter, Adejare.
During a recent interview, the singer revealed that he would rather be a failed musician than a failed father to his family.
“All I want is to do more for my daughter because I can’t afford to bring her into the kind of life I grew up living. It has to be way better, and that’s why I’m working hard.
My family is my centre. I don’t joke with my family. I can afford to be a failed musician, but not a failed father or a man. That’s not negotiable for me.”
