NECO Warns Against Proxy Exam Enrollment, Introduces New Anti-Fraud Measures
The National Examinations Council (NECO) has cautioned school owners, parents, and stakeholders to cease enrolling candidates for its exams by proxy, a practice that often leads to identity theft and fake results.
In a statement by NECO’s acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, the council outlined new anti-fraud measures, including biometric data capture, customized answer booklets, and the embossing of candidate photos on certificates.
NECO also urged the public to verify certificates via its e-Verify platform, warning that unverifiable certificates are deemed fake.
