NFF Calls for Investigation After Alleged Eligibility Breach by DR Congo
It has been reported that a protest by the Nigerian Football Federation has started against the Democratic Republic of Congo regarding the match. The protest states that there was a breaking of rules on their part over player eligibility rules.
After investigations and analysis of the match, questions about the Congo footballers arose. It seems that up to six of their players were not of dual nationality as stated under the rules of FIFA regulations.
This sparked the protest and calls for further investigation. “We’re waiting. The Congolese rules say you cannot have a dual citizenship or nationality.”
