NGF Mourns 105 Lives Lost in Jigawa Tanker Explosion

In a statement from the NGF, Chairman AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq extended heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and the people of Jigawa. He emphasized the need for enhanced safety measures when handling flammable materials and urged citizens to refrain from collecting fuel from spills due to the inherent dangers.
The forum’s statement highlighted the urgency for better safety protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future. The explosion happened late Tuesday night when the tanker driver lost control of the vehicle near Khadija University. The situation became more tragic as individuals attempted to scoop fuel, which led to the significant loss of life. Viral Video Sparks Outrage as Delta Police Officer Shoots Restrained Suspect
A viral clip has made its way online showing a police officer in Delta State shooting a suspect who had already been restrained.
It can be noted that the suspect was pleading, claiming he had been framed and deceived, and said he would lead them to the right place.
However, while he was pleading, the police officer shot him. The officer later stated that the suspect was armed with a gun.
It was later revealed that the police officer has been arrested, as it is against the law to shoot a restrained suspect.

24 Children Abducted from Orphanage in Kogi State
It was reported by the Kogi State Government that 24 children were abducted from an orphanage home. It was shared that this happened on the 26th of April, Sunday, and gunmen were seen in the area that day.
