Nnadozie Wins Back-to-Back with Best Goalkeeper Award at CAF Awards 2024

Chiamaka Nnadozie is brimming with joy after being named the Best Goalkeeper in Africa at the 2024 CAF Awards.
This marks the second consecutive year that the Super Falcons star has clinched the prestigious title, having first earned the honor in 2023.
At just 24 years old, Nnadozie has carved out an impressive reputation as one of the continent’s top shot-stoppers.
Nnadozie’s year has been nothing short of remarkable.
As the first-choice goalkeeper for Paris FC, she played a pivotal role in helping her team secure qualification for the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Competing at such a high level in Europe’s elite women’s tournament further cemented her status as a top-tier goalkeeper.
She was a standout performer for the Nigerian national team, the Super Falcons, delivering incredible saves and displays of leadership during the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
In her acceptance speech at the CAF Awards ceremony, Nnadozie expressed deep gratitude and humility.
“I was here last year, and I’m incredibly grateful to be here again.
I want to thank God for making this possible,” she said, acknowledging the support she’s received along her journey.
She didn’t forget to credit the key figures behind her success.
“A big thank you to the CAF President and the Nigerian Football President for their continuous efforts in promoting women’s football.
I’m also grateful to my club, Paris FC, for believing in me and investing in my growth,” she shared.

Mbappe Sues PSG for Forcing Him to Sign New Deal and Harassing Him

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe has taken legal action against his former club, Paris Saint-Germain, accusing them of attempted extortion and trying to pressure him into signing a new deal back in 2023 by banning him from training with the squad.
According to reports from Le Parisien, French authorities have launched an investigation after Mbappe, who also captains the French national team, filed a formal complaint for moral harassment. The complaint, which was submitted on May 16, focuses on how PSG handled the striker’s situation during the summer of 2023. At the time, Mbappe was left out of the first-team squad after refusing to extend his contract.
Following the complaint, two investigating judges have now been assigned to oversee the case, with the formal investigation officially starting on Tuesday. Mbappe eventually left PSG as a free agent and signed for Real Madrid, where he has since hit the ground running and made a strong impression with his performances.

Xabi Alonso Says Everyone Must Defend Including Vinicius and Mbappé

Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso has stressed that every player, including the attackers, must be involved when the team is defending. Speaking ahead of their final Club World Cup group match against Salzburg, Alonso made it clear that defending starts from the front.
“We all have to defend, all eleven players need to press — Vinicius Jr, Jude, Fede Valverde, Mbappé, everyone,” Alonso said. Madrid currently sits on four points after two games and needs just one more point to book a place in the Round of 16. Alonso also addressed questions about Rodrygo, who didn’t feature in their last match against Pachuca.
“Rodrygo is in good shape. He stayed on the bench for tactical reasons. He’s still very important for us, and we’ll definitely need him at the Club World Cup. He’s a special player and will have a big role to play,” Alonso added.
