NYSC DG Warns Corps Members on Uniform Integrity
Brigadier General YD Ahmed, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has issued a stern warning to serving corps members about the importance of maintaining the integrity of their NYSC uniforms.
During his recent visits to the orientation camps in Gombe State and Taraba State, General Ahmed emphasized the need for corps members to adhere strictly to the NYSC dress code.
Addressing the corps members at the camps in Amada and Sibre, General Ahmed stressed that improper dressing and defacement of the NYSC uniforms would lead to sanctions.
He reiterated that all corps members are expected to uphold the standards set by the Scheme and dress appropriately at all times.
In addition to uniform regulations, General Ahmed encouraged corps members to make a positive impact on their host communities by undertaking projects that contribute to the enhancement of local living standards.
He underscored the importance of utilizing the NYSC period as an opportunity for personal and professional growth.
The Director-General also highlighted the value of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, advising corps members to take full advantage of it.
He noted that many former corps members who embraced the skill acquisition opportunities during their service years have gone on to become successful entrepreneurs and employers across the country.
Furthermore, General Ahmed urged corps members to engage with the North-East SAED training centre in Gombe, which offers advanced training and access to sophisticated equipment.
He encouraged them to leverage these resources to acquire new skills and enhance their future job prospects.
In summary, General Ahmed’s message emphasized the dual focus of maintaining uniform standards and capitalizing on skill development opportunities to ensure both personal growth and meaningful contributions to society.
