The Ogun State Government has revoked the provisional licenses of 20 private orphanages for failing to comply with regulations that prioritize the safety and well-being of children.

Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Adijat Adeleye, announced the decision during a meeting in Abeokuta.

The government expressed concern over illegal adoption, child trafficking, and other malpractices within these orphanages.

Affected orphanages can reapply after a month, while stricter guidelines have been set for those with permanent licenses.
