Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has expressed disappointment over what he perceived as a lack of respect for Manchester United before their thrilling 2-2 draw at Anfield.

Van Dijk voiced his frustrations, particularly with the media, for underestimating United ahead of the game.

Speaking candidly, he said, “Do I think United were disrespected? Absolutely.

During the pre-match press conference, someone asked if we would rotate players against United. That shocked me.”

He added, “This is one of the biggest fixtures of the season.

They made it challenging for us, and they deserved credit for that.”
