Outrage as BBNaija Season 9 Premiere Clashes with Nationwide Protest

Published

on

Social media is ablaze with outrage as Nigerian youths criticize the timing of BBNaija season 9, set to premiere on July 28, 2024, just days before a nationwide protest against economic hardship.

The #EndBadGovernance protest, from August 1 to August 10, aims to address severe hunger and inflation.

Human rights advocate Kingsley Thompson, known on X as @Jkings, condemned the show’s timing, arguing it distracts from urgent socioeconomic issues.

He called for BBNaija’s suspension, saying, “Bringing BBN at this critical time in our country shows how we misplaced priorities.”

Many netizens support the call for suspension, accusing the organizers of diverting attention from important concerns.
