Pastor Adeboye Apologizes for Claiming Tithe Payment is Essential for Heaven
Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church, has issued an apology for his previous statement suggesting that Christians who do not pay tithes might not enter heaven.
In a recent address to his congregation, Adeboye described his earlier claim as a “mistake,” clarifying that the Bible does not support this assertion.
He emphasized that the true prerequisites for making it to heaven are peaceful and holy living.
“I apologize for saying ‘If you don’t pay tithe, you might not make it to heaven.’
I’m sorry, that’s wrong, and it’s not in the Bible,” he stated, adding that the Bible teaches followers to pursue peace and holiness to see God.
