Paul Merson Claims Arsenal Will Still Win Premier League Despite Defeat
Football legend, Paul Merson shares his claims that Arsenal will win the Premier League this season.
It can be noted that the club winning streak came to an end after their match against Manchester City, with the match ending in a 2-0 defeat.
He spoke on the match “Man City turned up in the second half of the Carabao Cup final and absolutely gave Arsenal a footballing lesson at the highest level.
“But watching that game and that second half, I don’t see Arsenal winning anything else but the Premier League.
“Man City are still in the FA Cup. Watching that game, you’d be shocked if Arsenal went back to Wembley and beat them.”
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta shares thoughts on how the upcoming week will be for the team. The manager shows no sign of defeat during the interview.
He shared that he still has big dreams and shows that he still has hope for the team:
“I’m on fire. That’s it. Nothing else. I’m dreaming so much.
“I’ve done so much to be in this position. Because I know how this club was. I’ve done so much against anything that I just see beauty, opportunity. I want to get it done with those who have been on this journey with us. They deserve it, it’s unbelievable.”
Arsenal legend Paul Merson shares his thoughts on Manchester United’s chances of winning the Premier League next season.
The club is currently stationed between Arsenal and Manchester City on the league table this season.
Merson shared that he doesn’t think they have the will to go all in for the title.
“I don’t think Manchester United are ready to fight for the title next season. Their sole focus should be on getting back into the Champions League.”
Manchester City secured a 3–0 victory over Chelsea in their Premier League clash on Sunday, April 12, 2026.
The win brings City closer than ever to Arsenal at the top of the table, raising questions about whether Arsenal can maintain their position.
It can be recalled that Arsenal recently suffered a loss to Bournemouth, which has added pressure in the title race.
