“Pele Deserves to Be Called The Greatest” — Ancelotti Picks Him Over Messi & Ronaldo
Brazil’s head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has declared football legend Pele as the greatest player of all time, putting him ahead of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in the GOAT debate. Speaking in a chat with CONMEBOL, Ancelotti explained that while comparing players from different generations is tough, Pele’s achievements, especially his World Cup triumphs, set him apart.
“It’s hard to say for sure because Pele played in a different era,” the Italian coach said. “But what he accomplished in his career, especially winning multiple World Cups, was extraordinary.” Ancelotti acknowledged that players like Ronaldo, whom he coached, and Messi, whom he’s watched over the years, have been exceptional. However, in his view, Pele deserves the top spot based on his legendary career.

Speaking after the match, the Spanish coach rejected the label, saying, “Loser? I’m not a loser. I’m a runner-up. In top-level football, there are no losers. A loser is someone who doesn’t even get out of bed.”
Despite the defeat, Enrique’s record last season speaks volumes, he led PSG to a treble, winning the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, and the French Cup. Now, the focus shifts to the UEFA Super Cup, where PSG will take on Tottenham Hotspur on August 13.
