Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State, has commended the Nigeria Police for their swift and effective rescue operation of Mrs. Folashade Odumusu, the wife of retired AIG Hakeem Odumusu, who was kidnapped recently.

Obi praised the operation for its precision, which led to the safe release of Mrs Odumusu and the neutralization of some kidnappers, as well as the recovery of weapons and ransom.

The Ogun State Police Command, with support from the Force Headquarters and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, was recognized for its professional handling of the case. The IGP, who showed great interest in the case, applauded the Ogun Command for dismantling the criminal network responsible for the abduction.

Obi emphasized that with the right leadership, motivation, and support from security agencies, crime can be tackled effectively.

He called on the Nigeria Police to apply the same level of urgency and professionalism to cases involving everyday Nigerians, many of whom remain victims of abduction without proper rescue efforts.
