Phil Jones tells Man United to sign Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa

Former Manchester United defender Phil Jones has called on his former club to consider signing Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez to strengthen their goalkeeping department under new manager Ruben Amorim. Jones praised the Argentine shot-stopper, pointing out his wealth of experience and quality between the sticks.
“I really like him. He’s a solid goalkeeper with a lot of experience,” Jones said in an interview with OLBG, as reported by Metro. “When I think about the impact David De Gea had at United—how many games he helped us win—Martinez has that same kind of presence.”
He added that bringing Martinez in would be a smart move, depending on whether United want to stick with Andre Onana or go for someone more seasoned. “If the club decides to move for Martinez, it would be a strong addition. It just depends on whether they’re going for experience or someone younger they can build up.”
Martinez, who previously played for Arsenal, has been the subject of transfer speculation, with several clubs reportedly interested in snapping him up this summer, including sides from the Saudi Pro League.

Osimhen Waits for England Move as Man United Adds Him to Summer Transfer List

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is reportedly on Manchester United’s transfer radar this summer, with the Nigerian star said to be waiting for updates from England about his next move. This was revealed by Galatasaray reporter Serhan Türk during a recent appearance on A Spor, where he discussed the club’s ongoing transfer talks.
Türk explained that those within Galatasaray’s transfer committee confirmed Osimhen is currently weighing his options and will soon decide his next destination. “People I spoke with in the Galatasaray camp said Osimhen will soon give us his final decision,” Türk shared.
He also mentioned that Osimhen is firmly on Manchester United’s transfer list, with the player eager to hear from the Premier League side before making his move. There are also rumours about other clubs monitoring the situation, but no official confirmation has been made yet. Osimhen, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, is reportedly keen to leave Napoli on a permanent deal this summer.

Fedele Tells Atalanta to Sell Lookman as Napoli Show Interest

Former Italian sporting director Enrico Fedele has advised Atalanta to cash in on Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman before the summer transfer window closes. Fedele believes Lookman is not far off in quality compared to Paris Saint-Germain star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, adding that the Super Eagles forward would be a strong replacement for the Georgian at Napoli.
Lookman has been linked with potential moves to both Napoli and Arsenal, with speculation about his future growing. Kvaratskhelia, who previously played for Napoli, sealed a big-money transfer to PSG in January 2025, leaving the Italian side in need of attacking reinforcements.
Speaking during an interview with Radio Marte, Fedele said Lookman is ready for the next step and urged Atalanta to take advantage of the situation. “Would Lookman raise the level? Absolutely,” Fedele said. “His contract might not have many years left, but his value is still high. Atalanta should sell him.
“He’s a player close to Kvara’s quality, and certain conditions could work in Napoli’s favour,” he added. Lookman joined Atalanta in 2022 and has been impressive for the Serie A side since his arrival.

Messi Becomes Free Agent and Can Talk to Other Clubs

Inter Miami star Lionel Messi has officially become a free agent, meaning he can now negotiate with any club of his choice, even though his current deal with the MLS side runs until December 2025. FIFA rules allow players with less than six months left on their contracts to enter talks with other clubs, giving Messi the green light to weigh his options.
This has fueled fresh rumours about a possible exit, with reports claiming that Saudi giants Al Hilal are preparing an official bid to tempt the Argentine legend to the Middle East. Speculation around Messi’s next move is also linked to his plans for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
