Phyna Cries Out After Sister Loses Her Leg in Dangote Truck Accident
Former Big Brother Naija winner and actress, Josephina Otabor, better known as Phyna, is in deep pain after her younger sister was involved in a ghastly accident with a truck linked to the Dangote Group.
The incident happened shortly after her sister, Otabor Bodon Ruth, had finished celebrating her graduation from Auchi Polytechnic. According to witnesses, a Dangote truck ran into her as she was leaving the school premises. Also, the driver allegedly tried to flee the scene but was chased down and caught by a lecturer who saw everything.
The accident left Ruth in a critical condition. Doctors were forced to amputate one of her legs to save her life, and there are growing fears that the second leg may also be lost if her health does not improve.
Phyna, devastated by the news, took to social media to call out the Dangote Group. In an emotional post, she accused the company of trying to sweep the matter under the carpet. She claimed that the police had been told to remove the license plate from the truck involved, raising fears that evidence could be tampered with.
She wrote that while her family was battling to keep Ruth alive, company officials were allegedly more concerned with covering up the situation. Additionally, she warned that neither the truck nor the driver should be released from custody, insisting that she would not allow her sister’s suffering to go unnoticed.
Her outcry has attracted attention.
Social media critic VeryDarkMan shared a video of Ruth in the hospital, urging Nigerians to stand with the family and demanding accountability from the Dangote Group. Actress Kate Henshaw also lent her voice, confirming that the truck was in police custody but noted that the removal of its plate number raised serious concerns.
