Former Chelsea defender William Gallas believes Jadon Sancho isn’t doing enough to earn a permanent stay at the club. Gallas advised Chelsea to reconsider signing the England international permanently, saying Sancho hasn’t shown he can deliver consistently for the West London side.

Sancho’s performance in Chelsea’s recent 1-0 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates, where Mikel Merino’s first-half header secured the win, left Gallas unimpressed.

“Sancho is talented — everyone knows that — but for some reason, he just isn’t performing,” Gallas told Stadium Astro. “He was brilliant at Dortmund, but things didn’t work out at Manchester United. When he first came to Chelsea, we saw glimpses of that Dortmund form, but now he seems to have faded again.”

Gallas suggested that Chelsea might need to think twice before making Sancho’s move permanent unless he steps up his game.

Joseph Yobo has backed Ola Aina for a possible move from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City, saying Aina has the qualities Pep Guardiola looks for in a defender.

In an interview with Africafoot, Yobo praised Aina as one of the best right-backs in the Premier League this season. He believes a switch to City would be a smart move for both the player and the club.

“Aina is easily one of the top three right-backs in the league right now, so a move to Manchester City wouldn’t surprise me,” Yobo said. He added that Aina’s strength in defence and ability to contribute to the attack makes him a perfect fit for Guardiola’s style of play.

Salah Sets Unwanted Record as Liverpool Lose FA Cup Final to Newcastle

Mohamed Salah set an unwanted record on Sunday after Liverpool’s 2-1 loss to Newcastle United in the FA Cup final at Wembley.

Despite his impressive form this season, where he has scored 32 goals and provided 22 assists in all competitions, Salah struggled to make an impact in the final. Goals from Dan Burn and Alexander Isak sealed the win for Newcastle, while Federico Chiesa managed to pull one back for Liverpool in injury time.

Salah had just 23 touches of the ball and failed to trouble Newcastle’s goalkeeper Nick Pope. According to Opta, this was the first time in his Liverpool career that he played a full 90 minutes without taking a shot or creating a scoring chance.

With the FA Cup dream over, Liverpool will now focus on the Premier League, where they sit 12 points ahead of second-place Arsenal. Their Champions League run ended earlier after a Round of 16 loss to Paris Saint-Germain.
