Police Arrest Fake Doctor Operating Illegally in Bayelsa
Officers from Zone 16 of the Nigeria Police Force have apprehended Doubara Esamasuode, a man posing as a medical doctor without proper licensure, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The arrest was confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday by the Bayelsa State Police Public Relations Officer, Emonena Gunn.
The statement highlighted the police’s firm dedication to upholding legal standards and safeguarding public safety.
Gunn emphasized that the swift arrest of the fake doctor is part of the police force’s broader efforts to rid the state of unqualified individuals posing a threat to the health and safety of the community.
The suspect had been practicing medicine without the necessary qualifications or a valid license, putting unsuspecting patients at risk.
The police spokesperson also noted that the arrest serves as a stern warning to those engaging in illegal medical practices, reaffirming the police’s commitment to protecting citizens from fraudulent activities.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the extent of Esamasuode’s illegal activities, with a focus on determining how long he had been operating and whether there were any victims who suffered harm under his care.
