President Tinubu Approves ₦70,000 Minimum Wage for Nigerian Workers
President Bola Tinubu has announced a new minimum wage of ₦70,000 for Nigerian workers, committing to a triennial review of the national minimum wage law.
Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information, disclosed this during a meeting at the Presidential Villa on Thursday, July 18, attended by leaders of organized labour unions including Comrade Joe Ajaero of the NLC and Comrade Festus Usifo of the TUC.
This decision follows previous calls from labour leaders for a ₦250,000 minimum wage, highlighting the ongoing efforts to enhance living standards and economic stability for workers nationwide.

Concern Grows Over Rising Insecurity Following Kwara Abduction Case
It was reported that bandits were seen in Kwara State and abducted six residents from Rukpete Village.
The incident was reported to have occurred on June 8 at about 11 p.m.
Sources revealed that seven people were initially taken, but an elderly man was later released, leaving six victims in captivity.
