President Tinubu Mourns Passing of Yar’Adua Family Matriarch, Hajiya Dada
President Bola Tinubu on Monday expressed his condolences to the Yar’Adua family following the death of Hajiya Dada, the mother of both the late former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and the late General Shehu Yar’Adua.
Hajiya Dada passed away on Monday, marking the end of an era for a family that has played a significant role in Nigeria’s political history.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the entire Yar’Adua family, particularly Senator Abdulaziz Yar’Adua, as well as the people of Katsina State, who have lost a beloved figure.
The president acknowledged the profound impact Hajiya Dada had on those who knew her, praising her as a matriarch who lived a life defined by compassion and unwavering faith.
“The President mourns Hajiya Dada but celebrates her enduring legacy of compassion, faith, honesty, and goodwill,” Ngelale stated, reflecting on the values that defined her life.
President Tinubu also expressed his prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul, recognising the important role she played in shaping the Yar’Adua family and her community.
The statement further highlighted that Hajiya Dada will always be remembered for the peace, comfort, and support she provided to those around her. Her legacy, built on acts of kindness and her nurturing spirit, will continue to live on in the hearts of many.
President Tinubu affirmed that her influence extended far beyond her immediate family, touching countless lives and leaving a lasting imprint on her community and the nation.
The passing of Hajiya Dada marks a significant loss, not only for the Yar’Adua family but also for Nigeria as a whole, as she was a key figure in one of the country’s most prominent political families.
Her contributions to the strength and unity of her family, as well as her impact on the wider community, will be cherished and remembered for years to come.
