Former Liverpool and Real Madrid boss Rafa Benitez has shared his take on the Cristiano Ronaldo versus Mohamed Salah debate, saying the Egyptian is the more complete player.

Speaking on the YouTube channel Shoot for Love, Benitez explained that while Ronaldo’s record in front of goal is unmatched, Salah brings more to the game overall. According to him, the Portuguese star stands out as one of the greatest finishers in football history, but Salah offers a wider range of qualities that make him a more rounded attacker.

Salah has scored 323 goals and provided 162 assists in 657 club appearances, showing consistency at the highest level for many years. Ronaldo, meanwhile, remains the all-time top scorer in club football with 796 goals and 257 assists in 1,057 matches.

Benitez summed up his thoughts by saying that although Ronaldo’s finishing ability is legendary, Salah’s overall contribution tilts the balance in his favor when comparing both players.
