Rafael Leao Says Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic Are the Best Players He Ever Played With
AC Milan star Rafael Leao has picked Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the two greatest players he’s shared the pitch with. Leao, who plays alongside Ronaldo for Portugal, also had the chance to team up with Ibrahimovic during the Swede’s final years at AC Milan.
Speaking in an interview with fashion outlet L’Officiel, Leao said, “It’s not just one, but two — Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo.”
Ronaldo, now 40, is still active with Saudi club Al Nassr, though his contract is set to run out at the end of this month. Meanwhile, Ibrahimovic, 43, has retired and currently works as an advisor for AC Milan under the club’s American ownership.
Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique has responded to criticism following his side’s 3-0 loss to Chelsea in the Club World Cup final, making it clear he doesn’t see himself as a loser. Speaking after the match, the Spanish coach rejected the label, saying, “Loser? I’m not a loser. I’m a runner-up. In top-level football, there are no losers. A loser is someone who doesn’t even get out of bed.”
Despite the defeat, Enrique’s record last season speaks volumes, he led PSG to a treble, winning the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, and the French Cup. Now, the focus shifts to the UEFA Super Cup, where PSG will take on Tottenham Hotspur on August 13.
Chelsea forward Joao Pedro didn’t hold back after their Club World Cup final win over PSG, calling out the French side for poor sportsmanship. Pedro said things turned heated after the final whistle when he stepped in to defend a teammate and was shoved to the ground. The clash followed Chelsea’s 3-0 win, with goals from Cole Palmer and Pedro himself sealing the trophy.
Tensions boiled over at the MetLife Stadium, as Pedro got into a confrontation with PSG keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Manager Luis Enrique was also caught up in the scuffle and appeared to strike Pedro during the chaos. “They’re bad losers,” Pedro said after the game. “I went to defend my teammate and got pushed to the ground.”
