Barcelona forward Raphinha has made history by breaking a club record previously held by the legendary Lionel Messi. He achieved this feat during Barcelona’s dramatic 3-3 draw with Inter Milan in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final on Wednesday night.

Raphinha played a pivotal role in his side’s comeback, scoring once and providing an assist. After Barcelona found themselves 2-0 down, the Brazilian winger helped spark a revival, with his assist for Ferran Torres’ goal pulling the score back to 2-1.

That assist marked his 8th of the season in the competition, alongside 12 goals in just 13 appearances, bringing his total to 20 goal contributions—surpassing Messi’s previous record of 19 goal contributions in a single Champions League season, set in 2011-12.

Raphinha almost added to his tally with a powerful shot that hit the crossbar in the second half. The Brazilian has been in outstanding form this season, registering 51 goal contributions in 51 appearances across all competitions.

Al Nassr legend Fahad Al-Bishi has urged Cristiano Ronaldo to step away from football and call time on his career, saying it’s time for the Portuguese star to protect the legacy he’s built. Al-Bishi criticized Ronaldo for prioritizing personal achievements over the club’s success, claiming the forward has cost Al Nassr valuable points by missing key chances in crucial games.

In a chat with Koora, Al-Bishi said, “Ronaldo seems more focused on his stats than the team. He’s broken records, no doubt, but he’s also let the team down in big moments. I respect everything he’s achieved, but it may be time to retire.” He added that Ronaldo’s recent body language, especially his visible frustration toward teammates, was disappointing. According to him, the 39-year-old no longer has the physical edge to match the demands he places on himself.

Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in 2022 following his exit from Manchester United but has yet to win a major trophy with the Saudi club, aside from the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023.

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly on the brink of joining Saudi giants Al Hilal, according to former Al-Batin president Nasser Al-Huwaidi. Al-Huwaidi revealed that the Portuguese star is close to leaving Al Nassr for their fierce rivals, with an official announcement expected soon. If finalized, the move would see Ronaldo feature in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

Ronaldo’s current contract with Al Nassr runs out in June, and the 40-year-old is set to become a free agent. This would allow him to sign a short-term deal with any club, just in time for the Club World Cup. Over the past few weeks, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward has been linked with several teams, including Wydad Casablanca, Palmeiras, Botafogo, and Al Hilal. But Al Hilal now seems to be in pole position to land him.

Speaking with Kooora, Al-Huwaidi said Ronaldo’s arrival would give the Club World Cup a major boost and attract a massive audience. He also hinted that Al Hilal is planning to bring in three more big international signings to strengthen their squad. “Ronaldo is still performing at a higher level than Mitrovic,” he said. “I believe Al Hilal fans will be excited about his arrival, especially if he helps the club lift more trophies.”

Former Manchester United defender Rafael has urged manager Ruben Amorim to consider selling Rasmus Hojlund and sign Victor Osimhen this summer. Hojlund has struggled to make an impact in his second season at Old Trafford, scoring just four goals in the Premier League and six across all competitions, including the Europa League.

Rafael made it clear he prefers Osimhen over Hojlund, praising the Nigerian striker’s talent and consistency. “I really like Osimhen; he’s a top player. Honestly, I would choose him over Hojlund any day,” Rafael told RG. “I’m not a big fan of Hojlund right now, though I hope he improves. I’m not sure if he’ll stay at Manchester United.”

Osimhen, currently on a season-long loan at Galatasaray, is expected to leave Napoli by next season. His impressive form in Turkey, with 25 goals in 29 matches, puts him on track to win the league’s top scorer award. With his proven goal-scoring ability, many see Osimhen as the perfect player to strengthen Manchester United’s attack moving forward.
