The late Indian billionaire Ratan Tata has made headlines with his unique decision to include his beloved dog,

Tito, as a beneficiary in his Rs 10,000 crore will. Tata, who passed away at the age of 86 on October 9, showed his deep affection for Tito, whom he adopted nearly six years ago.

According to the provisions outlined in his will, Tito is set to receive “unlimited” care throughout his life, under the attentive supervision of Tata’s trusted cook, Rajan Shaw.

Shaw has been dedicated to catering to Tito’s needs and will continue to ensure that the dog receives the best possible care.

While Tito will be well taken care of, the primary recipient of Tata’s substantial fortune is the Ratan Tata Endowment Foundation, which he established in 2022.

The foundation aims to further Tata’s philanthropic vision and will inherit significant stakes in various companies.

Chandrasekaran, Tata’s son and the current chairman of the Ratan Tata Endowment Foundation, is expected to steer the foundation’s activities, aligning them with his father’s values and ideals.

Family members, including Tata’s brother Jimmy and half-sisters Shireen and Deanna Jejeebhoy, are also beneficiaries of the will, as are Tata’s long-time staff members, who played an essential role in his personal life.

Notably, Shantanu Naidu, Tata’s confidant and executive assistant, is included in the will as well.

Tata had reportedly forgiven a personal loan to Naidu and relinquished his stake in Naidu’s companionship startup, Goodfellows, which reflects his supportive nature and belief in his friend’s entrepreneurial ventures.

Another intriguing aspect of Tata’s will is his extensive car collection, which consists of 20 to 30 luxury vehicles housed at his Colaba home.

Decisions regarding these cars are still under consideration, with options ranging from auctioning them off to potentially setting up a public display as a tribute to Tata’s remarkable life and contributions.

Currently, the will is pending probate at the Bombay High Court, where it awaits legal confirmation.

Once approved, Tata’s wishes—encompassing both his philanthropic goals and his commitment to Tito’s care—will be honoured in full, ensuring that his legacy lives on.

The Federal Government has announced an extension of the NYSC programme. It can be noted that the NYSC camp orientation is usually for three weeks before the youths go out to gain experience, employment, and serve the country for one year.

However, the FG announced that the passing-out parade from camp will be cancelled, and corps members will now spend six weeks in camp instead of three weeks.

“The first two weeks speak to laying a foundation on civic responsibility. The next two weeks will look at career mapping, basic accounting literacy skills, business planning and access to finance. The final two weeks, we intend to have focused corps-stream-specific training aligned with the corps member’s designated stream based on his choice, academic background and skills profile.”

The federal government reacted to claims stating that the new tax rules will be imposed on telecommunications and petroleum products for Nigerians.
