Rep Member Expresses Concern Over Rising Cost of Living
A Nigerian representative recently voiced concerns about the worsening economic conditions in the country, highlighting how an individual earning N70,000 a month struggles to meet their basic needs. According to the lawmaker, such an income cannot even last three days in the current economic climate, further stressing the challenges citizens face due to inflation and high living costs. This statement underscores the urgent need for comprehensive economic reforms to improve living standards.
Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani declines invitation to judge the Miss World Nigeria Beauty Pageant.
It was reported that the position of a judge was offered to Shehu Sani by Ben Murray Bruce, founder of Silverbird Group. However, Sani rejected the offer to judge the event.
Ben Bruce takes to social media to invite the former senator to be present at the event and sit as a judge.
Shebu Sani then responded by stating “You should have send me a formal letter and with full benefits attached to it after I have passed the Judgment. I appreciate the honour from a good friend. Unfortunately, I’ll be unavailable on that day. I wish you a successful outing.”
Shanghai Fashion Week (SHFW) Autumn/Winter 2025, held from March 25 to March 31, concluded on a high note, showcasing a dynamic blend of tradition, innovation, and commercial appeal. The event not only attracted increased showroom traffic but also renewed interest from buyers.

Beyond the runway, SHFW Autumn/Winter 2025 embraced technological advancements. The MODE exhibition featured over 200 brands, with more than half being international participants. Innovative presentations included a collaboration between Disney China and local brands, offering a unique fashion interpretation of the “Toy Story” franchise. Additionally, sportswear giant Nike concluded the week with a “Victory Lap” show, celebrating female athletes and pushing the boundaries of sports fashion.
The event also provided insights into evolving consumer trends in China. Brands are increasingly focusing on comfort, versatility, and refined styles to meet the demands of the modern consumer. The casualization of fashion was evident, with labels like Yirantian incorporating relaxed pieces into their collections.
