Cristiano Ronaldo has dropped a major hint that he could one day share the pitch with long-time rival Lionel Messi before they both hang up their boots. With his contract at Al Nassr set to expire on June 30, the Portuguese star’s future remains unclear. A move to Major League Soccer in the U.S. is one of the options on the table.

Speaking ahead of Portugal’s Nations League final against Spain, Ronaldo revealed he’s been approached by an Argentine club to join them for the Club World Cup.

“I have a lot of love for Argentina. My wife is from there,” he said. “I’ve never been to Argentina, but I want to. I was invited to play there. You never know… even at 40, anything can happen.” While he admits it might be unlikely, Ronaldo didn’t completely rule out the possibility, adding a fresh twist to the ongoing speculation about his next move.
