Ruben Amorim Admits He’s Fighting to Keep His Job at Man United
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has admitted that he is fighting to keep his job as the season enters its crucial second half.
Since taking over in November, the former Sporting CP coach has struggled to turn things around, losing seven of his 13 Premier League games, including five defeats at Old Trafford.
Speaking at a press conference, the 40-year-old acknowledged the risks involved, especially with United’s approach in the January transfer window, where they made no major signings.
“We are fighting for our jobs until the summer,” Amorim said, admitting that stepping into a struggling team mid-season without reinforcements was always going to be a gamble.

“Ademola Lookman arrived with great enthusiasm and desire to keep growing. We need him to add defensive work to what he already gives us offensively, because he has that ability,” he then added.
“He’s shown it with the Nigeria national team, and we need him in that role.”
