Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, also known as Rude Boy, has set strict conditions for signing new artists to his record label, Fire Department Inc. Launched in 2019, two years after the breakup of Psquare—a group he formed with his twin brother Peter Okoye—Fire Department Inc. has yet to sign any artists. Although the brothers briefly reunited in November 2021, tensions have since resurfaced.

During an Instagram Live session, Rude Boy expressed frustration with some Nigerian artists who, after achieving fame, develop a sense of entitlement and claim they no longer need a record label. He stated that any aspiring artist wishing to join his label must meet stringent requirements, including providing guarantees such as landed property and having their parents co-sign a binding contract. Additionally, he warned that any artist caught smoking would face a N10 million fine. Rude Boy emphasized that these conditions are the reason he has yet to sign any new artists.
