“Scoring Like Cristiano Feels Special” – Mbappé on Matching Ronaldo’s Record
Kylian Mbappé has matched Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal record in his debut season at Real Madrid.
The French forward bagged a brace in Madrid’s thrilling 3-2 comeback win over Leganes on Saturday. He opened the scoring from the penalty spot at the Santiago Bernabéu, but Leganes responded almost immediately through Diego Garcia. Dani Raba then put the visitors ahead before halftime.
After the break, Jude Bellingham leveled the game, setting the stage for Mbappé to grab his second goal of the night. That strike marked his 33rd goal across all competitions this season, equaling Ronaldo’s tally in his first campaign at the club. Only Iván Zamorano (37 goals) has scored more in his debut season for Madrid.
Speaking to Real Madrid TV, Mbappé described the achievement as special, emphasizing that team success remains the priority. He also acknowledged Ronaldo’s influence, revealing that they stay in touch and that the Portuguese star often gives him advice. Mbappé’s 33 goals include 22 in La Liga, all scored in just 45 appearances.
Former English footballer, Jamie Redknapp, makes bold suggestion regarding Mohamed Salah to leave the club, Liverpool.
The suggestion came after Liverpool manager Arne Slot criticized the player — a move Redknapp called out following Salah’s benching in the last match.
The former player shared “I don’t necessarily think in January. I just think we have got to let this settle. But I don’t foresee that he will see out the two years of his contract. I think it might be more in the summer.”

It can be recalled that Aston Villa scored a goal in the first half, but Arsenal scored back in the second half. After equalizing, Aston Villa scored another goal.
“In the first half we had moments, obviously had the best chance after a foul on Riccy [Calafiori] that Watkins goes through,” Arteta said.
“In the second half we started really well. Scored a goal and we were really dominant.”
