Seven Killed, Many Abducted in Fresh Bandit Attack in Katsina State
Seven people were killed in a recent bandit attack on Maidabino village in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State. An unspecified number of women and children were abducted and taken to a nearby forest.
Eyewitnesses reported that the bandits invaded the village at around 10:00 pm on Saturday, June 22, and operated for about three hours, shooting sporadically to scare residents. The attackers set ablaze those they killed and destroyed several houses, shops, and motor vehicles.
Katsina State police spokesman, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is ongoing.
“Yesterday, June 22, 2024, at about 2000 hrs, armed bandits in their numbers, armed with dangerous weapons, shooting sporadically, attacked Maidabino village, Danmusa LGA, where they shot and killed about seven (7) persons,” he said.
“Investigation is currently ongoing, as further developments will be communicated in due course.”
