Shakira and Cardi B Shine at Global Citizen Festival 2025 in New York
Central Park turned into a hub of music and activism on Saturday as thousands gathered for this year’s Global Citizen Festival. The night carried a twist. The Weeknd, who was originally billed as one of the headliners, pulled out days before the show.
Stepping in at the last moment was Cardi B, who made the stage entirely her own. The New York star wowed the crowd with hit after hit, from Bodak Yellow to I Like It, while proudly revealing her baby bump. Shakira, another powerhouse on the line-up, delivered a high-energy set.
The Global Citizen Festival isn’t just about performances but about action. This year’s edition focused on three big goals: expanding energy access to a million people in Africa, raising hundreds of millions to protect the Amazon rainforest, and to boost education for children through community funding.
