Spotify Names Nigerian Singer, Ayra Starr No.1 Female Afrobeats Artist of the Year
Afrobeats singer Ayra Starr bags a win as Spotify releases the top 5 female Afrobeats artists of the last 12 months, with Ayra Starr leading the list.
On the list, Ayra Starr came first, followed by Nigerian singer Tems. The third spot went to American-Cameroonian singer Libianca.
In fourth place was Aya Nakamura, while fifth place was taken by British-Nigerian singer Darkoo.
Meanwhile, the list came as a surprise to some fans as Tyla was missing despite her recent wins in the Afrobeats awards.

Rare Beauty, the beauty brand founded by Selena Gomez, has unveiled its first-ever celebrity partnership, announcing British actress Ella Bright as the face of its new Made You Blush campaign.
The brand first teased the collaboration on social media, asking fans to guess the celebrity involved. Many fans correctly guessed Ella and praised the partnership, saying she perfectly represents the brand.
This marks the first time Rare Beauty has collaborated with a celebrity ambassador.
Reacting to the announcement, Ella said “I am so excited to announce my partnership with Rare Beauty as the new face of the ‘Made You Blush’ campaign.”
She added “I have been a massive fan of the brand for years, and their Soft Pinch Liquid Blush has always been a favourite in my make-up routine.”

Nigerian TikTok influencer Peller has spoken about his upcoming wedding, revealing that he wants to break a cycle in his family.
He shared that his parents had children before getting married, but he wants a different path for himself and his fiancée, Jarvis.
He said “My parents didn’t get married when they gave birth to me and my siblings, but I said I will break that curse. When I told my parents I wanted to get married to Jarvis, they thought I was joking and didn’t take me seriously at first.”
