Former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol has called on Manchester United to part ways with manager Ruben Amorim following their heavy 3-0 loss to Manchester City in Sunday’s derby.

City cruised past United at the Etihad, with Phil Foden and Erling Haaland on target to seal the win for Pep Guardiola’s men. Reacting on ESPN FC, Nicol argued that Amorim’s refusal to change his approach is hurting the team.

“They might as well replace him now,” Nicol said. “If he keeps doing the same thing, then nothing will improve. The players don’t look like they can change it either, it feels more like self-preservation than a team effort.”
