“Still Game” Star, Jimmy Martin Passes Away at 93

Jimmy Martin, the Scottish actor best known for his role as ‘Auld Eric’ in the beloved sitcom Still Game, has passed away at the age of 93.

His death was announced by the show’s director, Michael Hines, who described Martin as a “wonderful actor” and a cherished friend.

Born on March 13, 1931, in Glasgow, Martin’s career spanned over four decades. He joined Still Game in 2002, portraying Eric, one of the regulars at The Clansman pub.

His authentic portrayal made him a fan favorite, and he appeared in 46 of the show’s 62 episodes.

Before his acting career, Martin served in the Royal Navy aboard HMS Bermuda and spent 16 years as a firefighter.

In 2024, he was awarded the British Empire Medal for his services to military veterans and charity work.
