Nigeria’s Super Falcons pulled off a dramatic comeback on Saturday night to defeat Morocco 3-2 and win the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. Playing in front of a home crowd in Rabat, the Moroccans took control early with first-half goals from Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanaa Mssoudy, putting Nigeria under pressure.

But the Falcons refused to back down. Esther Okoronkwo converted a penalty to make the comeback, then set up Folashade Ijamilusi to level the score.

With time running out, Jennifer Echegini connected with a well-placed free-kick to seal the win. The result not only stunned the hosts but also secured Nigeria’s 10th WAFCON title, more than any other team in Africa.
