“There’s not a single world in Afrobeats where Tems is greater than Tiwa Savage“
While Tems is undeniably a rising star, breaking boundaries with her soulful sound and international collaborations, comparing her to Tiwa Savage feels premature. Tiwa Savage, often regarded as the “Queen of Afrobeats,” has a decade-long legacy of redefining the genre, pioneering hits like “All Over” and “Eminado.” Her global influence, stage presence, and consistent chart-toppers have solidified her status as one of the greatest. Tems, with her unique voice and fresh sound, is still carving her space in the industry. While Tems’ journey is impressive and commendable, there’s a clear distinction between the two. Tiwa Savage’s catalog, influence, and pioneering role in Afrobeats are unmatched for now. In essence, both artists shine in their lanes, but to claim Tems has surpassed Tiwa is a stretch—at least, not yet.
