Tobi Makinde Reflects on First Project With Funke Akindele: “I Was Standing on Holy Ground”
Nigerian Actor Tobi Makinde praises colleague Funke Akindele on her achievement and the role she played in changing his career.
During a rent interview, the actor recalled his first encounter and project with Funke Akindele, he then states that he knew he was in for something great by working with her.
“The first time I worked with Funke, I knew I was standing on holy ground when it came to excellence. She’s not just talented, she’s intentional, focused and relentless in the best way. I watched her run massive productions with a calm sense of control, then step in front of the camera and give 110 per cent.”
“That level of dedication rubs off on one. It forces one to rise to the occasion. Working with her has been a masterclass, not just in acting, but in how to carry oneself as a creative. It changed how I approach everything.”

Nigerian singer Ycee speaks further on his “Olodo uprising” comments and gives more insight, stating that he did not call anyone an “olodo” and explaining what he meant.
He shared that some of his comments may have been taken out of context online.
“It wasn’t me calling anyone an olodo,” he explained. “I was talking about how ignorance and unintelligence are being rewarded across the world. People shrinking themselves because they do not want the unintelligent to feel offended, because they are now the majority. That’s all I said.”
