United States President-elect Donald Trump revealed on Friday that he had a conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The discussion came at a critical time, following the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to allow a controversial ban on TikTok to take effect over the weekend.

The ruling dismissed an appeal by TikTok’s owners, who argued that the ban infringed on First Amendment rights.

Trump shared that the conversation covered significant global and bilateral issues, including trade imbalances, the fentanyl crisis, the future of TikTok, and more.

“I had a great call with Chairman Xi Jinping of China. It was a positive discussion for both our nations. We are ready to address critical issues immediately, including trade, fentanyl, and TikTok.
