Trump Declines Third Debate with Harris

Former U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he will not participate in a third debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Trump made the declaration in a post on Truth Social, emphatically stating, “THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!”
He was referring to his previous debates, with President Joe Biden in June being the first, and his recent clash with Harris on Tuesday as the second.
Harris’ campaign had quickly called for an additional debate following their recent encounter, aiming to continue the debate series.
Despite this request, Trump expressed hesitation about agreeing to another debate.
In an interview with “Fox & Friends” on Wednesday, he mentioned that he would “probably” decline any further debate offers from the network.
By Thursday, Trump confirmed his decision not to debate Harris again.
He justified his stance by citing what he considered a decisive victory in their recent debate, which many observers felt tilted in Harris’ favor.
“When a prizefighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, ‘I WANT A REMATCH,’” Trump commented, highlighting his belief that the debate had already settled the issue.

Baba-Ahmed Urges Obi and Kwankwaso to Step Aside for New Generation Leaders

Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, former Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu in the Vice President’s Office, has urged Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, former presidential candidates of the Labour Party and New Nigeria Peoples Party respectively, to step aside from the 2027 presidential race. Baba-Ahmed argued that both Obi and Kwankwaso, along with President Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, represent an older generation that has had its time and now has little left to offer the country.
In an interview with Trust TV, he expressed that the country needs fresh leadership, as the current political environment is filled with bitterness, power struggles, and a lack of energy to address the nation’s real challenges. He said, “The generation that’s been in power has spent the last few decades just holding on to it without any real vision for progress. These men have already played their part, and the country needs new blood.”
Baba-Ahmed also criticized the notion that a president must serve two terms, questioning why the Constitution forces this outdated standard. He recalled that when they realized President Buhari was failing to deliver on his promises, several groups called for him to not serve a second term—something they feel should be re-evaluated moving forward.
“Politicians should not cling to power just because of tradition or regional demands. If a leader is not performing or has health issues, why should they remain in office?” he added. Baba-Ahmed concluded by stressing that these kinds of rigid political beliefs are contributing to the country’s stagnation and ongoing decline.

Trump Says He Won’t Run Third Term but Hand Over to a Strong Republican Leader

Donald Trump has said he’s not planning to run for a third term as U.S. President. In a recent interview on NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’, Trump said although many people want him to go for it, he’s not considering it.
The former president, now in his second term, said the law doesn’t allow a third term, even though he’s floated the idea before. “To the best of my knowledge, you’re not allowed,” he said, adding that he’s not sure if that’s strictly constitutional.
Trump is now focused on making the most of his current term, saying he hopes to hand over to a “great Republican” when he’s done. The U.S. Constitution’s 22nd Amendment limits presidents to two terms in office.

Atiku Tells Tinubu to Caution Seyi Over Alleged Assault and Intimidation

Former presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has called on President Bola Tinubu to caution his family, particularly his son, Seyi Tinubu. Atiku made the appeal following serious allegations made by NANS President, Atiku Isah, accusing Seyi of physical assault, abduction, and attempts to buy political loyalty.
In a statement released by his media aide, Paul Ibe, Atiku expressed concern over the gravity of the claims, saying such actions—if true—threaten Nigeria’s democratic values and civil rights. He warned that involving members of the first family in acts of intimidation or violence is dangerous and unacceptable.
Atiku further criticized the growing influence Seyi allegedly has over security agencies, calling it a worrying abuse of power. He accused the president’s family of trying to silence student and civil society voices through fear, bribery, or force.
Calling on Nigerians to speak out, Atiku emphasized that the presidency is a national responsibility—not a personal empire. He also dismissed efforts to link him politically with NANS President Isah, describing such moves as false and desperate.
