Trump Says He Might Rejoin WHO if They Fix Their Issues
Former U.S. President Donald Trump suggested that he might consider rejoining the World Health Organization (WHO) after previously pulling the U.S. out of the global health body.
Trump remarked during a rally in Las Vegas on Saturday, just days after he ordered the U.S. exit, citing the WHO’s mishandling of the COVID-19 pandemic and other global health issues. Despite his earlier criticism, Trump left the door open to re-engagement with the organization.
“Maybe we would consider doing it again, I don’t know. Maybe we would. They would have to clean it up,” Trump said, signalling that any potential rejoining would depend on significant changes within the WHO.
