Security forces, in partnership with the Feeder Team from Aba Power Distribution Company, arrested two suspects for illegal meter tampering in Aba, Abia State. The arrests were made on Orji Street, off Umule Road, after strong evidence linked the suspects to energy theft, a crime that jeopardizes the electricity supply in the Aba area.

One of the suspects, Isak Adamu, an electrician, was caught after weeks of surveillance revealed his involvement in multiple tampering incidents. The second suspect, Udeme James, confessed to paying Adamu ₦7,000 monthly to manipulate his meter, preventing accurate readings. Investigations suggest Adamu is part of a larger network offering illegal services.

Aba Power’s COO, Blessing Ogbe, stressed the company’s commitment to eradicating energy theft and announced stricter measures, urging the public to report such crimes.
