Ukraine Reveals Tryzub Laser Weapon Capable of Shooting Down Targets Over a Mile Away

Ukraine has unveiled a groundbreaking laser weapon capable of shooting down targets from over a mile away.

This was made by Vadym Sukharevskyi, the Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems, during his speech at a defence summit held in Kyiv this week.

Sukharevskyi shared that the laser system has already proven effective in shooting down aircraft at altitudes exceeding 2 kilometres (about 1.2 miles).

He confidently affirmed the capabilities of the weapon, stating, “It truly works, it truly exists.”

According to reports from CNN, citing the Interfax-Ukraine news agency, the Ukrainian military is also working to scale up the capabilities of the laser.

The laser weapon, named Tryzub, which translates to “trident” in Ukrainian, is a powerful symbol of Ukraine’s national identity.

The Tryzub, which appears on the country’s coat of arms, represents Ukraine’s strength, independence, and unity.
