Uriel Oputa Blames Timing for Losing Best Dressed Award at AMVCA

Big Brother Naija Star, Uriel Oputa speaks on losing out at the 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, AMVCA.

The reality star took to social media to express disappointment with not winning the best dressed award to the event.

It can be recalled that Prince Nelly and Liquorose both won the best dressed award for Male and Female. It can also be noted that these two are former BBN stars.

Uriel then states on her Instagram “This is not to knock anyone’s design. Everyone looked stunning. But let’s be honest,the only reason I didn’t win best dressed is because I wasn’t there on time. Nobody can tell me my dress didn’t eat.”

SEVENTEEN’s Jun Stars in ‘The Shadow’s Edge’ Coming to Korea in September

South Korean fans are gearing up for the arrival of the Chinese action blockbuster ‘The Shadow’s Edge’, which hits theaters in Korea on September 20, 2025. The film stars SEVENTEEN’s Jun (Wen Junhui) as Hu Feng. Since its premiere in China on August 16, the movie has drawn massive attention, reaching over 6 million viewers in just two days.

Directed by Larry Yang, The Shadow’s Edge is an adrenaline-packed crime thriller that follows the tense cat-and-mouse game between a high-level criminal organization and a skilled surveillance team. The film’s cast includes legendary action star Jackie Chan as a seasoned detective and Tony Leung Ka-Fai as Hu Feng’s adoptive father and the main antagonist.

Jun’s performance has been widely praised, especially his intense action sequences of martial arts and boxing. Director Larry Yang called Jun “a dedicated actor with incredible potential,” while Chinese media have recognized him as “a rising action star”.

Aside from acting, Jun remains active with SEVENTEEN. The group is preparing for their “NEW_” world tour, starting in Incheon on September 12 and 13, with stops across Hong Kong, North America, and Japan planned for later in the year.

Stray Kids Release Futuristic Album ‘Karma’ With 16 Versions

K-pop group Stray Kids has officially unveiled their highly anticipated fourth studio album, Karma, during a press conference held on August 22, 2025, at the Conrad Seoul Hotel in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.

Karma features 11 tracks, including the lead single Ceremony. The album is set in the futuristic year 2081 and revolves around a global competition called “Karma Sports,” reminiscent of the Olympics or World Cup. Each member takes on the role of a past champion from 2074 to 2080, with outfits and visuals designed to match the theme. The album explores ideas of perseverance, destiny, and the cycle of success and failure.

Among the tracks, there is Bicheri, a high-energy song reflecting the group’s journey, CREED, an anthem of determination, Mess, a raw and emotional track, In My Head, which dives into personal thoughts, and Phoenix, symbolizing rebirth and resilience. The album also includes special versions of Ceremony, including a festival version and an English version for international fans.

To celebrate the release, Stray Kids launched 16 different versions of Karma, including limited editions and vinyls. Each edition comes with exclusive packaging, collectible photo cards, and unique merchandise. Vinyl versions include Graphite, Crystal Clear, and Clear Vinyl, offering fans both a visual and auditory experience.

The group has also planned several promotional events. A pop-up store in Seoul’s Lotte World Mall and Lotte Cinema World Tower will run from August 23 to September 3. Additionally, the “Staydium” exhibition, in collaboration with Spotify, will tour Seoul, Jakarta, and Tokyo.

Jungkook ‘Seven’ Becomes First K-Pop Solo Song to Hit 2.5 Billion Streams

Jungkook, the globally celebrated BTS member, has reached a remarkable milestone with his solo hit “Seven.” Released on July 14, 2023, and featuring American rapper Latto, the track has now surpassed 2.5 billion streams on Spotify. This makes it the first K-pop solo song to achieve this record.

“Seven” is a romantic garage pop song that captures the feeling of wanting to spend every day of the week with someone special. Its catchy tune and relatable lyrics struck a chord with fans worldwide, and this has helped the song top music charts in multiple countries. The song debuted at number one on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Global 200.

The song also set a record on Spotify as the fastest track to reach 1 billion streams, accomplishing this feat in just 108 days.

Beyond streaming numbers, “Seven” has gained massive international success, topping charts in over 50 countries including India, Malaysia, and Singapore. It has also been featured on numerous year-end “Best of” lists.
