Moses Bliss, renowned gospel singer and founder of Spotlite Nation, has finally addressed the departure of former signee, Ebuka Songs, after months of speculation.

This occured during a press conference at The Experience 2024 music concert, where both artists performed separately.

The event, known for gathering some of the biggest names in gospel music, provided the perfect setting for Bliss to clarify the situation and set the record straight.

Bliss, famous for his hit song Daddy Wey Dey Pamper, explained that Ebuka Songs left before completing his contractual obligations.

According to Bliss, the original agreement was for three years, but Ebuka chose to exit after just 11 months.

In his words, “There are no issues between us. Yes, he was signed to Spotlite Nation, but he decided to go independent.

Our contract was supposed to last for three years. Around the 11th month, he told me he wanted to pursue his music alone.

I took time to pray about it and eventually gave him my blessing.”

The gospel star emphasized that he holds no resentment toward Ebuka and fully supports his decision.

“We’re not holding any grudges. Our mission has always been about spreading the gospel and allowing people to fulfill their calling.

I believe the future for him is truly endless in what he can achieve. I was a fan of the song [‘Calm Down’] even before I jumped onto the remix. What stands out for me is how the song continued to grow even a year after it was first released.”

Neill Blomkamp to Direct New ‘Starship Troopers’ Movie Based on Original Novel

Renowned filmmaker Neill Blomkamp, celebrated for his work on “District 9,” is set to direct a new adaptation of “Starship Troopers” for Sony’s Columbia Pictures. This upcoming film will revisit Robert A. Heinlein’s 1959 science fiction novel, distinguishing itself from the 1997 satirical movie directed by Paul Verhoeven.

The 1997 “Starship Troopers” film offered a satirical take on Heinlein’s novel, critiquing fascism and militarism. In contrast, Blomkamp’s adaptation aims to remain more faithful to the original text, exploring themes of citizenship, duty, and the complexities of a militarized society.

Joining Blomkamp in this endeavour is his wife and collaborator, Terri Tatchell, who will co-write the screenplay. The duo previously earned acclaim for their work on “District 9,” which received four Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Blomkamp’s filmography, including titles like “Elysium” and “Chappie,” is known for blending science fiction with socio-political commentary. This background suggests that the new “Starship Troopers” adaptation will delve into the novel’s intricate themes while delivering the director’s signature visual storytelling.

VeryDarkMan’s Lawyer Calls Mercy Chinwo’s N1.1 Billion Defamation Suit a Joke

Deji Adeyanju, the lawyer representing social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has dismissed gospel singer Mercy Chinwo’s defamation suit against his client as “a complete joke.”

A Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, recently issued a bench warrant for VeryDarkMan’s arrest on March 13, 2025, after he failed to appear in court over allegations of defaming Chinwo. The summons was initially issued on March 5, 2025.

Chinwo has also filed a lawsuit at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, demanding N1.1 billion in damages. The lawsuit stems from allegations that VeryDarkMan made defamatory statements on social media, accusing Chinwo of being involved in a contract dispute and the mismanagement of $345,000 tied to her former record label boss, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu (Eezee Tee).

Speaking in an interview with AIT, Adeyanju brushed off the lawsuit, questioning the basis for such a huge claim. “Pay N1.1 billion for what? Over what? This isn’t a court of law, so I won’t discuss our strategy here. We have no comment — it’s nothing serious, just a joke,” he said.

Meanwhile, VeryDarkMan, who is currently outside the country, has challenged security agencies to arrest him at the airport when he returns to Nigeria. He confidently stated that he was no stranger to being arrested.
