Wike Empowers Abuja Youth with 80 Free Vehicles
On Thursday, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), distributed 80 vehicles to young people in Abuja as part of the Renewed Hope Youth Empowerment Initiative.
This event marked the culmination of nine days of project flag-offs aimed at enhancing the lives of the youth in the nation’s capital.
During the flag-off ceremony, Wike emphasized the Federal Government’s commitment to empowering the youth of the FCT.
He outlined the details of the vehicle distribution, which included 30 Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs), 30 seven-seater Suzuki Minibuses, and 20 14-seater Hiace buses.
The minister mentioned that these vehicles are designed to create employment opportunities and help reduce transportation costs within the city.
Wike stressed that the government is providing these brand-new vehicles free of charge to beneficiaries selected from the six area councils of the FCT.
He encouraged the recipients to use the vehicles responsibly and for the intended purpose.
“These are brand new vehicles, and they are not paying a dime,” he stated.
“The government is offering this support to ensure you have the means to support your family and to help lower transportation costs in the city.”

Concern Grows Over Rising Insecurity Following Kwara Abduction Case
It was reported that bandits were seen in Kwara State and abducted six residents from Rukpete Village.
The incident was reported to have occurred on June 8 at about 11 p.m.
Sources revealed that seven people were initially taken, but an elderly man was later released, leaving six victims in captivity.
