Wizkid Sets Record as Most Awarded Nigerian at NAACP Image Awards
Wizkid and Davido have added new accolades to their names at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards.
The winners for the 56th edition of the prestigious award were revealed on Tuesday and Wednesday. Wizkid secured a win in the ‘Outstanding Duo Group or Collaboration’ category for his song with Brent Faiyaz.
This marks his sixth NAACP Image Award, making him the most awarded Nigerian artist in the history of the event.
Davido also claimed victory, winning ‘Outstanding International Song’ for his collaboration with Chris Brown. Meanwhile, Tems, Burna Boy, and other Nigerian artists were nominated but didn’t take home awards in their categories.
The NAACP Image Awards, organized by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, celebrate excellence in arts and media, recognizing outstanding contributions from artists worldwide.

Nigerian gospel singer Moses Bliss has reacted to the public backlash he faced following a request he made to graphic designers.
It can be noted that the singer took to social media asking for a graphic designer to create a flyer, which later turned into a challenge that many criticised, stating it undervalued creatives.
Moses Bliss has now issued an apology, saying “I sincerely apologize to every graphic designer who felt disrespected or undervalued… that was never my intention.”
He added “The goal was to give creatives a platform to showcase their work, not to undermine their value.”
