Nigerian Man Discusses Davido’s Custody Battle with Sophia Momodu

Published

on

Okey Aliyu, a Nigerian man, recently shared his views on Davido’s legal action against Sophia Momodu regarding their daughter, Imade. Aliyu believes that Davido might face challenges in gaining joint custody due to traditional Igbo customs.

According to Aliyu, in Igbo culture, children born before the payment of bride price are typically considered to belong to the mother’s family. He explained that without the formalities of paying the bride price and marriage, the child legally belongs to the mother.

This cultural aspect, Aliyu suggests, could impact Davido’s custody case, emphasizing that Davido’s failure to meet these traditional requirements before Imade’s birth may hinder his chances in court.

“I love the Igbo culture so much. If you impregnate a lady as a guy in most Igbo part of this country without paying her bride price, you already know the child belongs to the girl’s family and not yours as the guy,” he wrote.

“Let me rephrase; I hope you know in Igbo land, if you impregnate a lady and she gives birth without you paying her bride price, even if you later marry her, the child she gave birth to before you paid her bride price isn’t yours. hope you know?

“We start counting your legitimate children from the ones she birthed after you paid her bride price. Except her parents wants to pity you by giving you the child. By right, it’s not your child.

“I said let me notify you incase you don’t know how the culture works

“I always laugh whenever I see people fighting over custody of children they didn’t pay any kobo on the lady that birthed the child as bride price. Culture dey Sha

“If na my side you kon drag Pikin wey you no pay bride price for the girl head ehhh, your front teeth for don loss. Yes, you can’t win anywhere no matter your money and connection…” the man said part.

Rihanna, the globally renowned singer and entrepreneur, recently opened up about her experiences as a mother, describing it as a unique and challenging journey.

The 36-year-old superstar, who is now a mother of two, playfully referred to the role of being a “boy mom” as an Olympic sport, highlighting the demanding yet rewarding nature of raising her sons.

She made this lighthearted remark while sharing a video on her X handle featuring her first son, RZA, attempting to climb out of his baby cot.

After several determined efforts, the young boy finally managed to escape, showcasing both his persistence and energy.

Rihanna captioned the clip with a humorous note: “Being a boy mom is an Olympic sport.”

Rihanna and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, welcomed their first child, RZA, on May 19, 2022.

The birth came nearly a year after the couple publicly confirmed their relationship, marking a new chapter in their lives.

In August 2023, the couple expanded their family with the arrival of their second son, Riot Ross.

Despite rumors earlier this year suggesting that the Fenty Beauty founder was expecting her third child, Rihanna dispelled the speculation in an interview with ET.

However, she expressed her openness to having more children in the future.

Reflecting on her hopes for a daughter, she shared with Interview Magazine that she would “definitely” like to try for a girl, though she is equally content with her growing family of boys.

“I don’t know what God has planned, but I’m willing to have more than two kids.

I would love to try for a girl, but if it’s another boy, I’ll embrace it wholeheartedly,” Rihanna stated.

This is the video that has her calling having a boy child an “Olympic sport”.

Skales, born Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, recently shared insights about his contributions to the music industry during his time at Empire Mates Entertainment (EME).

Speaking on the show ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’ hosted by content creator Bae U Barbie, the singer claimed he wrote numerous hit songs for his former label mate, Wizkid.

Skales revealed that he played a role in the creation of several tracks on Wizkid’s debut album, Superstar, including the bonus track ‘Wiz Party.’

He emphasized that their collaboration at EME was a two-way street. While Skales contributed to Wizkid’s projects, the Grammy-winning artist also wrote songs for him, such as the popular track ‘Mukulu.’

Reflecting on their partnership, Skales stated, “Back in EME, we were a team. We used to write songs for each other. I wrote for Wizkid, and he wrote for me. It was all about teamwork.”

Their journey in the music industry began when they were among the first artists signed to EME by the R&B singer and music executive Banky W in the early 2010s.

The label played a crucial role in bringing both artists into the limelight, helping them build successful careers.

However, their time at the label wasn’t without challenges.

After a series of disagreements with Banky W, both Skales and Wizkid eventually parted ways with EME.

In a separate interview, Banky W disclosed that Wizkid still owed the label three albums based on his initial contract.

This revelation shed light on the contractual issues that contributed to their departure.

Despite the fallout, both artists have managed to carve out successful solo careers, with Wizkid achieving international acclaim and Skales continuing to make his mark in the music industry.
