“Leadership Built on Lies is a Weak Foundation” Kwankwaso Accuses Atiku of Deceit
Rabiu Kwankwaso, the National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has criticized the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, accusing him of making false claims even at his advanced age.
Kwankwaso alleged that Atiku lied to Northern clerics and political leaders about a supposed agreement regarding the presidency.
Speaking in an interview with Radio France International’s Hausa Service, Kwankwaso expressed his frustration over the situation.
He said he was disturbed by the information he received, calling it dishonorable for individuals in their 70s or 80s to deceive respected clerics and leaders about events that never occurred.
Kwankwaso emphasized his disbelief, saying he always has reliable sources in such gatherings who keep him informed about the discussions.
According to him, building leadership on a foundation of lies is dangerous, as it undermines trust and sets a fragile precedent for governance.
He further questioned the sincerity of those making such promises, casting doubt on their commitment to serving only one term if given the opportunity.

Isaac Fayose Criticizes Government Over Taxation and Insecurity
Nigerian businessman Isaac Fayose has spoken about what he considers one of the country’s biggest problems, stating that many Nigerians are worried about government taxation, insecurity, and the increasing rate of kidnappings for ransom.
He lamented the situation and criticized the government, arguing that these issues have become deeply rooted and that there appears to be no lasting solution in sight.
According to him “In Nigeria we have two governments. One is collecting tax, the other one is collecting ransom. Both of them have one thing in common which is to make life difficult for their people.
The one that is collecting tax without doing anything will come and share you rice and semolina. The one that is collecting ransom is doing giveaway on social media.”
